K-BID 101: A Simple Guide for Buyers
Bidding on K-BID is easy! Here's how it works:
-
Bid on the items you want.
-
Win the auction by having the highest bid when it closes.
-
Pick up and pay for your items on the removal date.
Important Things to Know:
-
Payment & Pickup: Winning bidders must pay for and pick up their items on the removal date. Failure to do so could result in penalties and losing bidding privileges.
-
Auction Management: Each auction is run by an independent auctioneer. Make sure to read the auction terms for each auction before you bid.
- Appointments Required: To expedite removal, please make your removal appointment for each auction. You will be prompted to do this on the Manage Invoice page
Auction Terms & Conditions
-
Auction terms are unique to each auction and include important details like accepted payment methods, sales tax, and removal instructions. You’ll need to agree to these terms before you bid.
-
You’ll find the specific auction terms and information at the bottom of each auction page.
Key Auction Details:
-
Details Section: This will include auction dates, times, and any notes from the auctioneer.
-
Inspection Dates: These are the times you can check out the items in person before bidding. Use this time to make sure the items meet your expectations.
-
Closing Date: This is when bidding ends. The auction will extend by 3 minutes if a bid is placed within the last 3 minutes (this is called "extended bidding").
-
Removal Date: You agree to pick up and pay for your items during the scheduled removal period. No exceptions unless confirmed by the auctioneer.
-
Appointments for Pickup & Shipping: Appointments are required for in-person removals and can be scheduled on the Manage Invoice page under the Invoices section of your bidder dashboard. Shipping can also be requested for eligible items, so be sure to check the auction details for shipping options.
-
Directions: The auction location will be listed here, so you know where to pick up your items. If you have any questions, contact the auctioneer directly.
-
Shipping: Some auctions offer shipping. Check the auction page or contact the auctioneer for shipping details.
Important Tips:
-
Use Inspection Times: Take advantage of scheduled inspection times to verify the condition of items before bidding. Remember, all items are sold as-is, where-is.
-
Bid with Intent: Once you place a bid, you’re committed to paying for the item, even if you change your mind.
-
Max Bid: Your highest bid will remain private until another bidder exceeds it.
-
No Sniping: If a bid is placed in the last 3 minutes, the auction will automatically extend by 3 more minutes.
-
Buyer’s Premium: A percentage is added to your final bid price. This is typically 15% (capped at $1,500 per item) and will be added to your invoice along with applicable sales tax.
Use your dashboard to monitor your bids, watch items, and view invoices for items you’ve won.
Happy bidding!
